Blood pressure is defined as the pressure of the blood against the walls of any blood vessel.

DISCOVERY
  • The English scientist Stephen Hales discovered blood pressure in 1711 by inserting glass tubes into the arteries of horses and observing the the rise and fall of the blood in the tubes.
